A little reminder of the Traidcraft Open Days coming up on Friday and Saturday…

We have received a lovely email from Judith Mylne’s friends Rosemary and Rolf Buwert who helped Judith on her Traidcraft stalls over the past few years. They explained that, ‘due to the Lockdown, we have not been able to plan an event, but are being brave and hope to have a last stall and sell Traidcraft, as below. There is no replacement for Judith in her role as Traidcraft representative so this is also an opportunity to write down memories of her fairly traded involvement, to put into an archive‘.

It will be a good opportunity to continue to honour Judith’s memory through supporting Traidcraft. And perhaps also to make a few Christmas purchases! We can vouch for the quality of Traidcraft products (especially the Kilombero rice, which makes both delicious savouries as well as amazing rice puddings!).

TRAIDCRAFT OPEN DAYS at SECOND NATURE

There will be an opportunity to buy Traidcraft products

on Friday 6th and Saturday 7th November

from 10am to 4pm

at Second Nature (former Baptist Church) on Newall Terrace, Dumfries.

This will be the last time to buy from Judith Mylne’s stall as her friends, the Buwerts, sell off the stock. There will also be JTS (Just Trading Scotland) Eswatini chutneys, jams and marmalades, and Thought bamboo socks.

Second Nature will have a stall of crafts looking ahead to the Festive Season. Karen and her staff are offering fairly traded refreshments.

As there is no Traidcraft representative in the town at present, there will be important information about shopping locally for Scottish and fair trade products, and online sites to support traders around the world.

These two days are shopping on one level, with the social distancing and mask wearing guidelines of the dates.

We hope you will support the open days as a tribute to Judith.

If you’re interested, there is a great wee interview with Judith from 2017 on the JTS – Just Trading Scotland page (<<Click here).
