Professor Michael Berry studies and lectures about tidal bores. He lives in Bristol, near the River Severn (with it’s famous bore) and got in touch following his interest in tidal bores. He hadn’t known about the Nith tidal bore before, and is very keen to learn more. 

Michael told us that, ‘Several years ago, I enjoyed a trip to witness the bore on the huge Qiantang river in China, and attach a short account. Only recently did I try to understand the shape of the bores’ undulations. As a theoretical physicist by trade, I should have done this years ago.’
