The Dumfries and Galloway Council Development Plan Scheme (DPS) sets out the programme for preparing the next Local Development Plan (LDP3). The DPS is updated annually to let you know how the Plan is progressing and gives you more detail on the next stages. The 16th edition of the DPS was approved by the Economy and Resources committee for publishing on 19 March 2024 and can be found here: DPS-2024.pdf (dumgal.gov.uk) Information on how you can comment on this DPS as well as a signing up to e-mails can be found here: Local Development Plan 3 (LDP3) – Dumfries and Galloway Council (dumgal.gov.uk)
Planning reform at the national level has changed how the next Plan (LDP3) is prepared and what that Plan will look like. This edition of the DPS provides an update on those planning reforms, a timescale for LDP3 and how we are proposing you can get involved. We are currently gathering data and information for the Evidence Report stage of LDP3. We will be undertaking public engagement events in May and June 2024 and detailed information for these events will be posted on our website in the near future: Local Development Plan 3 (LDP3) – Dumfries and Galloway Council (dumgal.gov.uk)
