Heather Baird from Kelton got in touch a wee while ago with a very generous offer to the community, apologies it has taken longer than we’d hoped to let you all know on here…
Heather writes,
“I’d like to introduce myself: I’m Heather Baird, I’m a registered and practicing Art Psychotherapist.
For all of us these are difficult and challenging times, feeling worried or anxious is a very understandable response.
I’d like to be able to offer something to our community which I hope will help with managing some of these difficult to manage feelings.
This will not be therapy in the formal sense but will be an opportunity to get in touch with how your feelings and, I hope, will help to make things a bit more bearable. Essentially a friendly chat and listening ear.
I plan to offer 15 minute phone sessions between 7pm and 9pm on Thursday evenings and also Sunday mornings between 10-12. I will review these times depending on demand. There is no charge.
If you’d like to book one of these slots please contact me by private message, so that we can agree a time that’s convenient.
I’m also continuing to offer art therapy sessions (using video conferencing (zoom) at the present). Please contact me also if you are interested in knowing more about this.
Finally all forms of creativity are universally therapeutic. Do get in touch and let me know what you are up to. If I can support you with your projects, I will. For myself I’m making little pen and ink drawings, which I’ve entitled ‘Images for Corona Virus’ and capture some of the sense of my day.
Go Well, Warmest Regards
Heather Baird (HCPC)
Art Psychotherapist”
