Thanks to Chris Woodness for passing us this poster, originally from Mark Jardine, who says: “The beauty of this poster is that it is not a ‘one off’ and forgotten about, but rather an on-going process which doesn’t rely on one specific weekend being dry, or the fact that it coincides with Jock and Jenny’s wedding, or the time when you’re on holiday – instead it is so flexible it could be a yoga mat!”

A simple but effective idea that anybody can get behind.

You might be aware of a general movement on social media where people are taking photos of a really littery/messy bit of their area and tidying it up.

Or motorhome “wombles” where people visiting an area gather up all the rubbish wherever they find themselves parked.

Or even the Caerlaverock Cleanup that happens every year (a date will be announced soon on that one too.)

Plus of course there are people quietly improving their areas, cleaning up litter and dog poo all the time without any programmes in place to do so!

All extremely heartening, and hopefully will feed back to people that leave a mess in the first place that it is really pretty unacceptable.
