On Monday [15th October 2018] Caerlaverock Wildfowlers and Scottish Solway Wildfowlers Association (SSWA) joined forces with Scottish Natural Heritage (SNH) and The British Association for Shooting and Conservation (BASC) to train volunteers to assist with wardening on Scotland’s National Nature Reserves (NNR), Caerlaverock.

This initiative is the precursor to the anticipated issue of wildfowling permits for the remainder of this season.

Tom Brown, Caerlaverock Wildfowlers Chairman said,

“We are all delighted to be working together with SNH and SSWA to ensure that the NNR is properly wardened and to assist wildfowlers maintain the highest standards and comply with the bye-laws. This evenings training ensures that all volunteers are properly briefed and equipped for their roles.”
