TRAFFIC ORDERS : TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURE

B725 Dumfries – Glencaple – Clarencefield
Application has been received for a temporary road closure of the above named road. Pertinent details of the requested closure are as undernoted.

Source Of Request
– Communities – Roads & Infrastructure – Road Network Management (East) for DGC
Location
– B725 from the junction with U114n Dovecotwell, North-West towards Kenneth Bank
Reason
The following works are proposed on or near the road.
– Carriageway drainage works
Alternative Routes
– Divert via (All Vehicles)
– B725, C12n Bankend Road and vice versa
Pedestrian Access
– Pedestrian access will be maintained
Timing of Closure
– 14/11/2022 to 18/11/2022
– 0900 to 1700 daily

 

****UPDATE*** Re Road Closures at Kennethbank (14 Nov til 22 Nov )

Scott McDonald, Senior Roads Technician at DG Council has kindly sent us the following info to share:

“Thank you for bringing the signage for the road closure on the B725 to my attention as it relates to one of my capital drainage schemes.

It would seem the signage has been laid out incorrectly and I will be in touch with the contractor to have the signs corrected.

I have attached a map showing where the road closed signs should be and in between will be the closure.

Local access will be provided for those within the closure however the people who live at Kenneth Bank should have no issue getting to and from their homes from the North Eastbound road.

The closure will run from 9-5 with two way traffic lights going on at night.”
