Well, maybe not a real riddle, but the R worked in the title…

Brenda Craik got in touch, prompted by some of the old photos posted recently. She asks if anyone might have something  that would solve a mystery. [The cottages are on the front at Glencaple]

“While carrying on with renovations at Bellvue we have discovered gable ends on both Bellvue and Beaufort leading us to think that the old shop was built in a space between the two cottages.

We have also heard that the byre in back of Bellvue was once a boat shed.

Any info would be much appreciated.”
