ESPECIALLY IMPORTANT FOR FIREARM AND SHOTGUN HOLDERS

Information has come to light that persons have been posing as police officers or bank staff and advising their victim that a fraud is being investigated and therefore their cash and cards need to be supplied to a courier for safe keeping or evidential purposes.  They have also been asking if the victim holds any weapons and informing them that the weapons must be wrapped and given to the courier along with any ammunition. 

If you receive a call of this manner please report it to Police immediately.  Do not confirm to a stranger that you are a shotgun or firearms holder.  The Police will be able to check very easily if you are a certificate holder and have access to weapons.  Do not provide any items to a courier.  The Police will never send a courier to collect items for safe keeping or as evidence.  You would be asked to attend at a local Police Station or an officer will attend at your home address carrying their ID (which we encourage you to ask for) or in full uniform.
