We’ve had a message from a Caerlaverock resident, about a scam call they received:
 
“I got a phone call from the National Crime Agency, telling me that because of unethical bank transactions, my National Insurance Number is being cancelled. To discuss this, and to speak to an Advisor, press button 1.
DO NOT PRESS BUTTON 1.
There is a warning about this scam on the NCA web page.”
 
If you do press 1 and connect to these scammers, they’ll try and get personal details from you, then attempt to use your identity to commit actual fraud. Just hang up, and don’t engage with them.
