Many thanks to Jean O’Toole, who has been in touch via our Facebook Page to share this flyer and ask that we all write individually to MSP Joan McAlpine regarding our concerns about the speed of traffic (cycles/ cars/ lorries/ farm vehicles etc) through Glencaple village, to strengthen the case for traffic calming measures (extended 30 mph zone, a central 20 mph limit and speed reducing measures though not speed bumps/ chicanes).
…and to bring it up as a matter of concern on Monday 30th July when either Joan or Councillor John Campbell come to your door (if you live in Glencaple). It does sound like you need to email to request a personal visit, we’ve posted the email link below.
Many thanks to everyone out-with Glencaple who has shown their support. If you are concerned about the speed of traffic around the school/ Nith Hotel/ bottom of Church Street/ emerging from Wellington Street and throughout the village in general – as a pedestrian/ cyclist/ dog walker/ driver or shop visitor etc. – your voices matter too! Come to the meeting and get in touch with our MSP with your concerns – email address below.
There may be other issues which you would also like to raise with MSP Joan McAlpine, this is your opportunity!
Jean is going to request a community meeting about road safety. We will keep you posted with time and place.
Jean says:
“Here’s our chance to speak about our road safety! And anything else which you are concerned about. I will request a community meeting & please do email to the address below, ( those who can ) with a request for a village meeting with Joan or John with regards to our Community Campaign! The more voices the better!! All the best!“
