Bob and Sue left this lovely note [above] in the honesty box. They had stayed at the Quay End and come along to The Nith Hotel where they were invited to join in the quiz – Bob only going on to be half of the winning team!

Sue Greig, who organises the quiz (and sent the photo above) explained that the quiz night was full of, “Great fun and games! Winners were Graham and Bob (Bob and Sue were parked up in their motor home on the quay) so we all made new friends from far and near. Next quiz will be on Thursday 27th Feb at 7.30 in Public Bar, Nith Hotel.“

Bob also sent our Facebook Page a message, which was very well received!

“Stopped off overnight in our motorhome last week at Glencaple Harbour. Cracking well kept spot right on the river front with spaces allocated to motorhomes. Loads of wildflife on the river – geese, swans, herons etc.

Lovely dinner at the Nith Hotel and, as a bonus, it happened to be quiz night. We joined in with a crowd of locals who made us feel really welcome. After a quiet night’s sleep, we rounded off our stay with a tasty brunch at the Boathouse Restaurant which is right next to the car park.

This was the best freecamping experience we’ve had since we started motorhoming and we’ll definitely be back. Thank you Glencaple!”
