An invitation from Alison Robertson…. 

The weather deteriorates after this weekend so Stuart Graham and I have decided to hold another impromptu moth-trap opening to celebrate the gorgeous autumn moths we see at this time of year. 

Time: 9 am on Saturday morning (21 September)

Place: Castle Corner picnic tables

Stuart Graham and Alison Robertson will be opening moth traps placed around Caerlaverock the previous evening. All welcome (just turn up). Although moth numbers are falling at this time of year, autumn has some stunning moths with names like Pink-barred Sallow, Frosted Orange and Black Rustic, often coloured to match the gorgeous autumn leaves.

(The outlook on Saturday morning looks like mothly dry and sunny, so if you aren’t having a long lie on Saturday, get up and make the motht of the sunshiny weekend!)
