Many thanks to Rob Wells for sending us this great video of a little egret meeting a grey heron at low tide on the River Nith in Glencaple today!

Hello.Could anybody tell me when the next tidal bore is due this year 2019.My two grandsons are in the area, would relish the opportunity of a sighting. Thank you. S W H.
Hi Stephen -Under the Out and About section, there is a page dedicated to the Nith Tidal Bore – with all the information we could find on it: https://www.caerlaverock.org.uk/tidal-bore-on-the-river-nith/
Theoretically there will be 2 bores every day, when the tide comes in. It’s roughly (a very vague estimate) 2 hours before high tide and its height and visibility (or lack of) depends on lots of factors – moon/rainfall/wind etc. Always worth a chance though! Good luck!
