We’ve had this message from Seán O’Toole, the Nith Ward Officer, if you’d like to have you say then here is your chance! We know that WC’s are being closed at an alarming rate, and our local loo is very much appreciated.

COMMUNITY CONVERSATION INVITATION – PUBLIC CONVENIENCES – 24 JULY

The Communities Directorate are holding a series of Community Conversations in your local area to seek your opinion on current public toilet provision across Dumfries and Galloway.

As you may be aware, Officers have been tasked with saving £128,000 from the public convenience budget as of the 1 April 2020.

In terms of the Public Convenience Service Review, all options need to be considered across the region including Community Ownership/Management, other provision available with Communities and potential private sector comfort schemes.

More information regarding this subject will be provided at our Conversation. We fully understand that these services are important to you and your local community’s so we would welcome your attendance. We need your help to ensure that local community opinion is voiced and forms part of this process.

Our Community Conversation for Nith Ward will take place as follows:

Date: Wednesday 24th July

Start Time/ Finish Time: 2pm – 3pm. & 6pm – 7pm.

Venue: Georgetown DG Customer Services (Library)

Many thanks and we look forward to welcoming you and hearing your views.

Seán O’Toole

Ward Officer | Nith Ward
