It was great to see the team using the Quay for a practice session today. They had only just started at the bottom of the tide but we hope that the fish were biting eventually.

Glencaple Welcomes The Scottish Ladies Angling Team
Growing up in Glencaple remind me of my childhood when my pals and I would throw a line of the quay end in the hope that we would get a trout, grilse or salmon. Sadly our catches were restricted to eels, and occasionally a flounder however as my Dad was from the East end of London he cooked them and jellied eels were a treat. So good to see the auld quay getting the recognition it deserves. In my teens I progressed to half netting which taught me various skills not least the need to appreciate nature and also if you have to be somewhere to do your job then catching the tide, or the ebb is essential as tide or time waits for no one.
So glad to see the Ladies team using the quay end as a practise area.
