We got this lovely old photo sent in from Keith McCubbin, and with a little bit of retouching to remove marks on it, here it is!

Notes on the back say:
Keith McCubbin & Marion Stott.
Posing on the hill. House in centre used to be called “Patbrae”. The photographer gave them both lollipops to pose. Photo was in a calendar around 1957/58.
Notice the Police sign on gable of house to the left. John Williamson was the policeman then. The Nicolsons stayed in house to the right.

UPDATE! We decided to take a pic of the same spot now, just for fun. Slide the bar left and right to compare…

LOVELY TO SEE THESE ‘OLD’ BUT NEW PHOTOS TO ME AND THE FAMILY
My dad was the policeman at Glencaple from 1954 to1966. The two storey house in the background had the McCalls in it and the bungalow, Patbrai, had the Taits. My dad helped Mrs Tait deliver a baby in Patbrai. We inherited their cat when they left Glencaple. I see Keith from time to time in Dumfries and the Scott’s used to have a parrot which wolf whistled and a chimpanzee?
