“This book, ‘Breaking Through -The Will & The Ability To Go Forward’ was written by Dr Paul Mensah, who until his retirement recently, waa a Consultant Obstetrician & Gynaecologist with NHS Dumfries for nearly 30 years.

It chronicles his life and experiences from his tiny village in the Central Region, Ghana in West Africa to Dumfries & Galloway. It’s a really fascinating account.

He wrote the book after visiting his home town of Ekurabadze 5 years ago and finding the local elementary school in a terrible state of disrepair. He set aside some funds to do the repairs but Covid prevented him from doing so immediately. He therefore used a portion of the funds to publish this book with the intention of recouping the initial outlay and adding any profits to do the work.

In the last three months, he has personally funded and supervised an extensive renovation work on the Junior Secondary School (Middle school previously) as seen in the photos below. There is still work to be done with the supply of desks and computers, and for starting work on the Primary School.
Every penny from the sale of each book goes towards the renovation work still outstanding.

‘Breaking Through – The Will & The Abiity To Go Forward’ is priced at £16.99″
