The British Cycling UK National Road Cycling Championships
Some of you may have noticed a leaflet about the upcoming meetings being put through your letterbox, local residents have been given these to distribute, but the contents basically just let you know about the upcoming meetings:
MEETINGS
Thursday 9 June
Glencaple
12.30pm Barbour Memorial Hall, Residents Information Session
Crichton, Easterbrook Hall
1600 – 1800: Businesses drop in
1900 – 2030: Residents presentation and Q&A
We don’t know much more than that, apart from information we have found publicly online:
ROAD CLOSURE
Dumfries Time Trial Thursday 23 June
“The time trials will take place throughout the morning and afternoon of June 23 on a loop course on the B725 from the Crichton along to Bankend, Carlaverock Castle, Glencaple and back to the Easterbrook Hall. Please note the B725 will be closed from 9.30am to 6.30pm to enable the Time Trials to take place. There will be no vehicle access along this road during this time period.”
Several residents have expressed frustration and confusing about what is happening, so we suggest you come along to the meetings. We will be there to report for those who can’t come.
VOLUNTEERING
We’ve also been passed information about volunteering:
“We are looking for volunteers to cover roles such as marshalling, traffic management, crossing points, car parking, branding and sign on. Please note those involved with marshalling and traffic management will be working directly with the appointed traffic management company for the event and thus will be given full training from them.
If you are interested in volunteering at this event, please register your interest using this link: https://forms.office.com/r/QKk5xJ8ggN . We’d be grateful if you could do this before the 12th June.”
