D&G Council say, “The waste collection service will be operating as normal over the festive season in Nithsdale, Stewartry and Annandale and Eskdale, apart from households and commercial premises whose waste is uplifted on a Wednesday and Thursday.”
 
That’ll include us Caerlaverock folk, then!
 
Over Christmas:
 
Bins/sacks due to be collected on Wednesday 25 December will be collected on Saturday 28 December.
Those due to be collected on Thursday 26 December will be collected on Sunday 29 December.
 
At New Year:
 
Bins/sacks due to be collected on Wednesday 1 January will be collected on Wednesday 8 January (normal service resumes).
Those due to be collected on Thursday 2 January will be collected on Thursday 9 January (normal service resumes).
 
(You can also put out three additional refuse sacks this time. The Council used to provide free extra ones for everyone over the Festive period, but not any more – you don’t have to use ‘official’ sacks though, standard ones will be lifted.)
