We don’t envy talented baker extraordinaire, Cath Haining’s Very Important Job, which was to judge the truly scrumptious results in the Children’s Jubilee Bake-Off at The Barbour Hall Picnic!
She did a marvellous job, based on taste, presentation and on the cleverly inventive ideas the entrants came up with!

SOooooo, the results are:

SURPRISE! EVERYBODY WON!

*GOLD!* Archie with his beautifully presented cupcakes, inside a flag surround with tiny hand made bunting – totally magnificent! (We have only just noticed the SUPERB Pun – Jubilee Bun Tin! )

*SILVER!* Keira with her unbelievable Union Jack decorated Super Sponge cake, using strawberries, blueberries and white frosting – so inspired!

*BRONZE!* Rae’s separately decorated Jolly Jubilee Cupcakes – every one of them different, using red white and blue fondant, these are just so much fun to look at and eat!

* Joint Winners*: Addison’s Utterly Awesome Triple Layered sponge cake absolutely chock full of filling (which we loved) and her very own version of the Union Jack on top using juicy Jubilee Blueberries and Strawbs!
and

Jak’s Jammy Jubilee Scones – such a clever idea to make red white and blue filling, and we all know that scones can be very hard to make properly, these colourful entries knocked it way out of the (Norfolk) Park.
Massive well done to everybody, and we hope you tidied up your kitchens afterwards!
After the Judging, these got demolished by everybody present, who all agreed this was better than that silly Bake-Off programme on the telly as we got a taste of the entries! Expert Judge Cath (watch out Prue – you have some hot competition!) was presented with a well-deserved bouquet of flowers for her nerve-wracking job. Phew!
PRIZES TO BE SENT OUT SOON! Everyone’s a winner! 🌟
