“My great grandmother Catherine was born in Caerlaverock, though not sure where but her parents, Mary Ann Irvine Currie and William Currie (a farm servant) were registered as living at Holland Park on the 1851 census.

The attached photo [above] shows Catherine with her husband (Alexander McCaig) along with their children…..Robert, William and Mary Ann McCaig (my grandmother on my mother’s side).
If anyone has any information relating to McCaigs or Curries from this area, I would be interested to correspond more.“
