A big thank you to everyone who came along to the first Caerlaverock Calendar Presentation evening last night, generously hosted at The Boathouse on Glencaple Quay.
What a super turn out and a lovely evening!

Rev David Logan introduced the night, thanking everyone who participated in one way or another: his ‘partner in crime’, Malcolm Laurie, for his input in the organisation, graphic design and production of the calendars, The Nith Hotel and The Boathouse for kindly helping to sell the calendars, to the people who submitted photos at short notice back in September 2018 and to everyone who bought one, two, or a few calendars!

Feedback has been taken on board, and the 2020 calendars will be A3 and foldable, which will make posting (for presents or corporate gifts) as well as wrapping a lot more practical!

Next, Malcolm Laurie appealed for the submission of photographs for the 2020 calendar, for any pre-orders (business or personal) to be made via caerlaverockcommunity@gmail.com and for sponsors of pages/ months (again business or personal) to get in touch. 3 months have already been ‘baggied’!

Onto the presentations themselves!

As the production of the 2019 calendar had been funded by donation, there was £1000 to allocate to local good causes and charities.

***Insert drum roll***

Both Homes for Hens and Dumfries and Galloway Canine Rescue Centre received £100 each, The Nith Inshore Rescue were presented with a cheque for £300 and Caerlaverock Primary School were given £500 to go towards their trim trail (or alternative plan).

And a few more photos of the evening (not up to calendar standard!)

With many thanks again to Alanna, Amy and Lady Clare for giving up their time to host the evening, with drinks and nibbles, at The Boathouse – very much appreciated!
