We went along to the Boathouse this evening to sample their Burns Night Specials, and were impressed!
A wee Flora MacDonald from the Scottish cocktails selection started the evening off nicely!
We dove straight into the mains to follow and opted for the mouthwatering salmon and the scrummy (vegan) haggis, neeps and tatties. Both were seriously tasty and satisfied every aspect of our hopes, but we couldn’t agree on which was better…
Both!

For puddings, we took a less traditional route, ordering a cranachan and… a cullen skink! The cullen skink was a particularly good choice, and were told that it has gone down very well at lunchtime too! We came away very happy, full tummied and with enthusiastic compliments to the chef!
We highly recommend that you book a table for tomorrow night (Saturday) while you can, or pop in for lunch on Saturday or Sunday to taste the Burns Specials for yourself!

(We hope that we’ve persuaded Alanna to include the haggis and the chowder in particular on The Boathouse new menus (coming soon!).
