You might have noticed some fantastic Jubilee decorations around Caerlaverock, and our treasure hunters (who were out looking for royal-related objects to spot) voted for the Best Dressed House.

Pictured here is John accepting the prize of a bouquet of flowers, on behalf of everyone who helped with the display, which included a rather laid back lifesize version of the Queen. WELL DONE!

We were particularly impressed with the use of Christmas Tinsel – in the middle of June!

In second place was Colonia, no 7 Norfolk Avenue. Their huge silhouette of the Queen could probably have been spotted from Bankend, if there wasn’t a hill in the way. Congratulations!

And in third was Brooklyn, which was proudly flying 4 flags, did you work out which ones they were? Excellent job Brenda :)

We loved the solar powered Queen in the window, who is still probably waving away as we write this.
There were loads more which we spotted on a cycle around, and a special mention must go to the inventiveness of the one with the three bathtowels. If it was up to us, they would have won…
