Fruit and veg is beginning to burgeon forth on the allotment plots! As everything comes all at once, there is sometimes an abundance beyond what the average freezer can cope with!
So, to minimise waste, and hopefully help raise some funds for the allotments, we have organised a stall to offer some of this excellent, fresh organic produce to the community! There may even be some excess seedlings, plants and fresh cut flowers…
Opening 1pm Sunday 18th July
The stall is at the big Quay Hill gate – just up from the Homes4Hens egg stall. The honesty box is on a post to the right (as you look at the stall). Donations are welcome!
Please let your friends and neighbours know!
The stall will be there from Sunday, and it will just depend what has been picked/ what is ‘in season’ and who has been before you as to what you might find. You could find freshly dug tatties, onions, beetroot, cabbage, marrow, peas, courgette…
Please bring your own bag/ container.
And whilst you’re there, why not have a wander round the site – see the produce in progress! And have a wee sit down on the benches between the wild-life plots – it is a community site, welcome to all!
