Alison Robertson spotted these particularly happy looking eggs on a birch tree near Caerlaverock Castle this morning! They are a clutch of shieldbug eggs, though it has not yet been determined which species of shieldbug laid them.
Alison tells us that “Each egg is about 1mm across. They certainly brought a smile to my face and I thought other people might like to see them too“!
