A few of the messages we have received online recently, from grateful motorhomers:

Just an email to say a big thank you to all concerned who allow us to use the motorhome parking at the Nith hotel and at Caerlaverock Castle Corner Camp Site.  We have friends and family who live at Dumfries and Glencaple and we normally meet at the Nith Hotel.

Myself and my wife love the area and love the many walks and in particular visits to the castle. It’s so nice to find communities embracing motorhomers like us, on many occasions we visit areas that are hostile with strict parking restrictions plus added height barriers, I personally think this is a loss to all, we get to stay at a lovely place in Scotland and at the same time we visits places like the Nith Hotel (steak nights legendry), tea room and visits to the castle, this has to be a win win  for all. I’m well aware that within all walks of life there will be the minority that will try to ruin it for the majority, I hope that this never happens and spoils our access to a wonderful area.

Thank you for the very thoughtful and pleasant camp site at Castle Corner. We had a lovely stopover, walk on the nature reserve and visit to the castle.

Just to say we are staying at Castle Corner and have donated. May do some walking tomorrow. Two grateful Motorhomers Thank you.

As well as putting some money in the donation box for campervanners I felt I wanted thank you personally for your hospitality and for setting a fantastic example to other communities on how it can be done. Already planning to come back. Best wishes
