An *official* warm welcome to Ellie Oakley, the SRUC student who joined NNR Caerlaverock this year!

You may recall hearing of her as we appealed for accommodation for her earlier in the year (she found some!) and shared her post about the recent moth night, however, now that she has settled in to her new surroundings, she has found a bit of time to share a little bit about herself in her blog: ayearatcaerlaverock.

Without giving too much away, she talks about the nerve-racking run up to applying for her dream job and interview (we’ve all been there!), and subsequent delight at being offered the position!

Her enthusiasm for working in the Caerlaverock area is clear, and her passion for the great outdoors unmistakable!

We hope the rest of her year continues to be as rewarding as her first month – it will be interesting to hear her write about life and work in Caerlaerock over the changing seasons – and it would be super if she could see a natterjack toad on home ground!
