We bumped into a large group of walkers taking in the stunning scenery along the Nith riverside footpath and enjoying the beautiful blue skies and sunshine today.

They belong to the U3A walking group (University of the Third Age – retired and semi-retired people who come together and learn together, not for qualifications but for its own reward: the sheer joy of discovery).
They were happy to stop and chat about haaf netting and their route today (which would take them back to The Nith hotel for a well deserved bite to eat!).

We wanted to join them, but were trying to stick to our plan for the day…
