Its always good to be able to positively identify exactly what we’re looking at when we’re out and about and the The Amphibian and Reptile Groups of the UK (ARG UK) have updated their excellent ‘UK Reptile Identification Guide’ for 2016.
There are a number of comprehensive guides which will help you with clear images and specific identifying features and other 
things to look out for.

*Remember to ‘look but don’t touch’. Some species are protected by law. It is always a good idea to teach children to respect wildlife, that touching can harm and in fact sometimes touching can be harmful to us.*
Taking photographs without disturbing our wildlife, or its habitat, is an excellent way of recording what we’ve seen!
