National Nature Reserve – Historic Environment Scotland event

A series of events are taking place on and around the reserve throughout Caerlaverock NNR’s 60th Anniversary year.

Come and join us at Caerlaverock Castle to enjoy the dark side of Caerlaverock’s experience with our reserve staff and Historic Environment Scotland rangers. Meet us all at Caerlaverock Castle visitor center for a short talk about this unique historical landscape. Be prepared to listen and hear what may come your way as we visit the castle and surrounding ground. There we’ll also stop to gaze at stars and constellations.

Come with warm clothing, waterproofs, bat detectors, optic, red light torch and dark sky guides.

Directions: Caerlaverock Castle is on the north shore of the Solway Firth, South East of Dumfries.
From Dumfries, take the B725 south to Glencaple/ Bankend, following the east bank of the River Nith.
From Annan – Gretna, turn left along the A75 towards Clarencefield then right onto the B725 before Ruthwell.
Caerlaverock Castle is sign-posted with brown signs.
