Many thanks to Shirley Little who got in touch by email:
‘Further to your recent report on the community website I have attached pictures of the rubbish I picked up this morning whilst out on my morning walk with Buffy. I usually like to photograph our wonderful scenery but was too distracted by the litter. This consisted of not only the ubiquitous energy drinks bottles/cans but also fish and chip boxes and even the plastic carrier bag presumably used to transport them in. Quite handy actually as it gave me something to put my haul into.
This was all picked up between the turning up to the dog rescue centre and Lantonside road end.
What happened to “take only pictures and leave only footprints”.’

Clearly a complete dis-respect of our countryside.
In response to our question ‘what can we do about this?’, Shirley suggested a “Keep Caerlaverock Clean” campaign, which we have added it to the agenda for our next meeting. Brilliant idea!

What do you think? What would you suggest we can do to Keep Caerlaverock Clean? What would get the message across and create a real impact? How can we all get involved? Do you have any ideas to share?
