Following a request forwarded to the CCA at the inaugral meeting last week, we now have a life buoy ring at the end of Glencaple Quay.

Whilst obviously safe and appropriate use of the Quay and around the river is logical (and we hope it is never needed), the life buoy is a welcome and important addition to Glencaple Quay, especially as the summer weather brings more people out and about to enjoy the river.

The RNLI recommend simple instructions for use:

Whilst most people carry mobile phones nowadays, it is worth noting that the nearest telephone is in the shop, failing that, the Nith Hotel. Note: The red phone box is an information point, there is no telephone inside.
