Chris Jackson and Alison Robertson have spent about half an hour watching a kingfisher on the River Nith banking near to the Quay End in Glencaple, opposite their house at 9.30 this morning! 

It was catching fish, then spent 20 minutes preening.

What an amazing sight it must have been, especially as you’re lucky if you catch a flash of blue out the corner of your eye as a kingfisher flies upstream!

And what a super start to a Sunday morning!

Lets keep our eyes peeled for this beautiful British bird!
