It’s been a long road, but Rona and John Carson of Kelton Bank have finally got their solar speed signs covering the bad bend in the road at Kelton Bank!
The Carsons first started campaigning [for a reduced speed limit] on the corner 2 years ago. They have witnessed too many near misses as cars in both directions come, at speed, onto the bend on the wrong side of the road… They have a general concern at the speed of motorists coming towards the bend which gets worse in heavy rain when speeding cars have to manoever away from the flood water.
Anyway, today is a good day! The solar signs are up!
Rona says that it has been worth every minute of the 2 years, now that they have a result, and that they “would like to thank all those in the Caerlaverock Community for signing and commenting their experiences on the petition to make the road safer.“
It will be interesting to hear just how much of an improvement they make! Well done Rona and John, and thank you for keeping us posted!
