Adrianne Prinsen emailed us – she was doing research about her family when she came upon our article “History of Burnside“.
She asked:
‘I wonder if your community could help me out in finding my family? My name Is Adrianne Prinsen. I am the great-granddaughter of William Hunter and great great granddaughter of William Hunter who, in 1901 at the time of the Census, lived at Muirpark Cottages as a cattleman in Caerlaverock. I am trying to piece together the family history. I know what happened when William Hunter (jr) came to Canada in 1928 with his family but before then remains a mystery.
If there is anyone who may have family connections to us, or could help fill in the past, I would be most grateful.’
And
‘I have had some success today in locating the actual house he lived in, but I do not know the area well enough to tell you where that might be.
