On Thursday the 24th of March Nic Coombey came to talk to the P1-3 class about the Solway Firth Partnership. He brought in loads of cool items with him that he had found on the beach. These included shells, birds’ wings, birds’ skulls, a crab’s shell, a buoy and a glass ball used for fishing in the olden days. He told us about the animals in the Solway Firth and showed us loads of egg whelks and mermaids purses. He also talked about the birds near the Solway Firth and how they live their lives.
After that he let us feel all the stuff that he had brought with him. Then we played a game where you were split into three teams and we had to collect berries and Nic tried to stop us from getting them!
We really enjoyed the talk and would like to thank Nic for coming in to talk to us.
