On the 8th and the 15th of May the p4-7 pupils went outside and carried out some gardening. We planted a lot of new plants like carrots, apple mint and pineapple mint, peas, little Heath plants, a pieris rose, potatoes and we weeded a lot. After we planted all of them we watered them and turned up the mud. We all took turns weeding the playground.

Planting tomatoes and cucumbers

On the 8th of May the class planted tomatoes and cucumbers in our home made greenhouse, which is made of old plastic bottles. First we had put the supports for the tomatoes and cucumber in, so their vines could tangle around them to give them support. The second task was to plant the sprouts so they could start to grow; they were very small but will grow into plants with lots of tomatoes and cucumbers on them.  After they are ready to pick our cook Mrs. Mitchell will put them in a salad which is always great, or we might get to take them home!
