On the 26th of January (one day after Rabbie’s birthday), we had our Burns Supper. To start us off we had our piper pipe us in – it was Jess who is in our class that played her bagpipes!

We then heard the Selkirk Grace being read by our p2-3 pupils. Next we had Scotch Broth soup followed by Jess piping in the haggis. The P7’s then recited the famous poem Address to the Haggis. We were then served Irn Bru and our main course haggis, neaps and tatties with pigs in blankets.

We then had a choice of a lovely bread and butter pudding or apple crumble thanks to our brilliant cook Mrs Mitchel. After that we had the winners of the poetry competition recite their poems.

Next we had the Immortal Memory performed as an acrostic poem by our p4-6’s, followed by the Toast to the Lassies and then the Reply from the lassies from the P7 boys and girls. We then finished with Auld Lang Syne. It was a great event!
