  • Please:
  • Do not arrive after 22.00
  • park considerately on the area at the Quay End only
    Or if in the car parking spaces overnight between 21.00 and 09.00
  • Stay for a maximum of two nights only
  • Do not exceed the maximum capacity using Castle Corner (see below) if the Quay End is busy
  • Please don’t park on the grass
  • Please keep your dog(s) on a lead and clear up after them using the bins provided
  • Use the bins provided for your litter
  • Don’t use our public toilets for your waste
  • Please be aware this space is not a campsite. It is shared with you by locals who traditionally enjoy walking around the Quay End. It is for use by us all so please do not put up awnings or tables.
  • Only freestanding Barbecues are permitted
  • Do not play loud music and observe the noise curfew after 22.00 hours
  • Please be respectful, responsible and reasonable at all times.

A minimum contribution of £10 per night is suggested using the Honest Box or ideally via PayPal using the link below or the QR Code on the information board.

If you arrive to find the Quay End is full – i.e. there is no space on the hardstanding at the end, please try the very lovely Castle Corner just down the road.

Caerlaverock Estate have generously offered the serviced site at Castle Corner (see our map page) for the same arrangements. And it is less than 3 miles south of Glencaple, in a beautiful spot – just a short walk through the woods to Caerlaverock Castle and WWT Caerlaverock, with spaces for your use.

A minimum contribution of £10 per night is suggested using the Honest Box or ideally via PayPal.

Castle Corner offers, drinking water tap, grey waste disposal, and chemical waste disposal.

Rules/Guidance

Please:

  • Do not arrive after 22.00
  • Park considerately in the bays only
  • Stay for a maximum of two nights only
  • Do not exceed the maximum capacity of … spaces
  • Note that tents are not permitted
  • Do not light open fires and use only free standing barbecues
  • Do not play loud music and observe the noise curfew after 22.00 hours
  • Do not park on the grass
  • Please keep your dog(s) on a lead and clear up after them including if walking in the adjoining Nature Reserve
  • Remove all rubbish
  • Report any issues with services to Info@caerlaverock.com
  • Remove all rubbish and leave no trace (no tyre tracks in the soft grass). Follow The Scottish Outdoor Access Code
  • Be Responsible, Respectful and Reasonable!
