We are currently working on a new 10 year management plan for Caerlaverock National Nature Reserve.

In many ways the management for the reserve will be similar to what we have done in the past, for almost 60 years now.

Much of the management measures we are putting forward revolve around improving the habitats and managing activities which will take place on the reserve.

One thing we would like to develop is more involvement from local people and the community, so people can enjoy and value this unique place.

We would particularly like to get your views on how we could engage with people in an effective way and hopefully reinforce or create new links over the next 10 years. If you have any ideas or comments on the management plan we would like to hear them during the upcoming public consultation.

This 6 week consultation will be running between March and April, with a drop-in event in Glencaple and a guided walk on the reserve (details coming soon).

We would encourage you to keep an eye on our Facebook page, NNR website and community notice boards where further information will be displayed by the end of February.
