We captured a couple of shots of Kevin Butters of Dumfries as he worked on his drystone dyke under the decking area of The Boathouse at Glencaple Quay in Caerlaverock this morning.
The building is being extensively refurbished following a devastating fire, ready for opening in April. Kevin had been contracted to make the walls on the original tearoom (as seen in the picture below), so there is continuity of style and materials – it matches up.
As there is no cement involved Kevin explained that any flood water should soak in and out.
