At the last CCA meeting, Douglas Anderson stood down as Chair, after many years of holding the post – thank you Doug for your hard work and dedication!

Doug will still be very hands on as Vice Chair, but a little bit more behind the scenes. David Gilbert is now our new Chairperson – which met with approval from all present. Many of you may already know David, but for those that don’t, here is a little introduction. Welcome David!

David Gilbert moved to Kelton, from Oxford, with his wife Sue in August ín 2016. He first visited Caerlaverock in 1977 on a wildfowling trip and has returned almost every year since. Moving here always seemed a dream until, when up with Sue in October 2015, they found Cedrum on the market. They decided this was where they wanted to be and the rest is history.

David is now semi retired working three days a week from home with occasional trips to London or Glasgow as a director of Lambert Smith Hampton. He is a Chartered Surveyor, Chartered Arbitrator and accredited mediator. He continues to lecture and write articles on commercial property related matters.

One of the main reasons for moving was to enjoy a new life in a rural environment away from the stresses of the south east of England. Here David can indulge his passion for wildfowling and working labradors. He spends two or three days a week picking up at Drumlanrig during the shooting season and during the summer, fly fishing.
