***Update:***
Caerlaverock falls within the Dumfries and Galloway area where restrictions to travel for leisure (no more than 5 miles) remain in place.
Please respect these necessary restrictions and help us stop any further spread of the coronavirus.
Please share this info to anybody you think it might affect.
From Scottish Government News page:
Delay to relaxation of restrictions in parts of Dumfries and Galloway.
Following a cluster of coronavirus (COVID-19) cases in the Annan and Gretna areas of Dumfries and Galloway, restrictions to the distance people can travel for leisure purposes are to remain in place.
People in Scotland living in the postcode areas of DG16 (Gretna), DG12 (Annan), DG1 and DG2 (Dumfries), DG11 (Lockerbie), DG13 (Langholm) and DG14 (Canonbie) are being asked to travel no more than 5 miles while efforts to manage the outbreak continue. This advice does not apply to essential travel.
Holidaymakers from other areas who have booked self-catering accommodation in these postcodes are still able to take up their reservations but must adhere to these travel restrictions once they arrive.
Visits to care homes in these postcode areas will not be permitted over the weekend because of the risk to staff and residents.
The advice will stay in place this weekend with a further update on local restrictions provided on Monday.
We have been receiving a fair number of motorhome enquiries, including questions about staying over at Castle Corner.
Scotland are following different coronavirus guidelines to England, and camping is not yet permitted here. The Estate are planning some maintenance tasks at Castle Corner too, so we’ll let you know as soon as we all know it’s safe to re-open.
Hope that is helpful. We look forward to welcoming responsible campervan/ motorhoming visitors back then!
Thanks for the info and A big thank you for allowing motor homes to park in your village . Hope all gets back to normal soon and we can come and visit you and spend some money .
StY safe and all the best to you all in the future
Some money.
Take care and keep safe.
Is there an update on this now campsites are officially open?
Thanks
No update as yet, we will tell everyone when we hear from the Estate.
Wonderful site. Stayed here a few times going north and south in the past few years. Look forward to it opening again when safe and legal to do so
Beautiful area and very appreciated use of area for motorhome. A big thank you to local community groups who have invested in resources for these facilities. I, and others I know, always make a point of contributing to local shops, services, lifeboat etc. I really hope that the local community continue to be able to support responsible motor-homers.
Thank you for everything you do for us motorhomers, it is very much appreciated. When the restrictions are lifted am sure we will be back to enjoy your facilities
