The Old Post Office in Glencaple will soon be awakening from its slumber and reopening as an antique shop. ‘Vintage on the Nith’ will open its doors for the first time on Saturday 23rd November at 10am and will stock a wide variety of vintage, retro and antique gifts.

Owner and vivacious villager Gerry Donnelly told us:

“I am incredibly excited about this venture. I have had a lifetime love of old, beautiful and quirky things and I now have the opportunity to indulge and share this with the opening of the shop. I really love this area having moved here in 1996 and I am delighted to give the old Post Office a new lease of life. Hopefully as well as being a destination for local people, it will become another draw for people to visit this beautiful village and area.

I will be stocking a wide variety of things including kitchenelia, art glass, pottery, fabrics, lighting, mirrors, furniture, books (antiquarian and modern) with a focus on vintage, retro and mid-century design. Essentially it will be a shop selling lovely gifts and items for the home. I am really looking forward to meeting and enthusing my customers about the things I like.”

The opening hours of the shop will be Tuesday 12-5, Wednesday-Saturday 10-5 and Sunday 12-4.

Appointments to visit the shop outside of hours for a minimum party of 4 can be made by calling Gerry on 07749 038152.

New items for sale will be posted regularly on Facebook at Vintageonthenith.
