The online fraudsters are really at it these days, this particular one is doing the rounds. (Malc here, my clients have been getting this message too, and I was nearly tricked as well since I was in the process of setting up this year’s licence anyway.)

Be aware that any deal too good to be true probably is. You aren’t likely to get a FREE! TV licence, and you will not suddenly get an unsolicited email informing you that your TV licence has expired.

EG the below email we received:

Note that the web address here is NOT the official TV Licencing site. Breezewoodacres.com? That’s not it. Delete that email and if you are in need of a TV licence, go to the official site, don’t click on any links in emails you might get.

Because the scammers have basically copied the official site in many ways, there are messages on it about how it is a Secure Website – well, it isn’t.

Edit to add:
We’ve just had an email from a Caerlaverockan who received an email from ‘TV Licencing’ – letting them know of a substantial refund due to them – the giveaway was that they haven’t had to pay for a TV licence for years!!
