What a success! We had a full house!

If you wondered why there were groups of people creeping around Glencaple village last night, with cushions under their arms – this is the reason why!

It was our first ever showing of the ‘Caerlaverock Community Cinema’ showing one of Revd David Logan’s favourite films – Sunshine on Leith! Thank you so much to over forty people who braved the cold frosty evening to come round to the Barbour Hall for the ‘test night’! We had to keep adding rows of seats as more and more folk arrived!

It was a great community event – everyone sharing a common experience – just how it should be!   It warmed the cockles of the hardest hearts!

Please let us know if you have any further feedback following the night that will help us in the future.

A few things to ponder. Please comment to let us know your thoughts!

  • Do you have ideas for future films?
  • Will you come to film nights regularly?
  • Will you travel to Bankend/ Glencaple to a film night?
  • Can we get/ keep numbers up to cover the cost of licences?
  • How much would you be willing to pay (to cover costs)?
  • Would you like to keep it family friendly?
  • Are Monday nights a good night?
  • Would you like to see it as a regular thing?
  • How often should it be?

We know there were a few people who couldn’t make it along last night. With enough support, we would like to bring the film nights around the Parish – Hutton Hall (Bankend) next?

Together with the proposed film nights organised by The Boathouse (coming soon!), we think it would be lovely to have regular screenings around the parish letting the community come together in a cinema setting and all enjoy that experience.

[A wee reminder for next time, bring your own cushion!]

Btw, did anyone spot the Revd David Logan’s cameo?!
