SUMMARY:Creative Caerlaverock: Finale Event
DESCRIPTION:Join us at Caerlaverock Castle for a vibrant afternoon celebrating sound\, storytelling\, hidden histories\, and collective imagination. \nOver the past year\, young creatives\, local groups\, and artists have been reimagining Caerlaverock through a creative lens. The Finale brings their shared journey to life—through soundscapes\, installations\, performances\, and printed works inspired by the land and its many layers of story. \nWhat’s Happening?\nField Guide Launches\nDiscover a brand-new series of risograph-printed creative field guides—playful\, poetic instruction packs designed to help you uncover the magic of Caerlaverock through sound\, stories\, and hidden queer history. \nSite & Sound\nTune into geo-located audio stories written and recorded by young creatives from the ‘Creative Toolbox’ project in collaboration with Sonic Labs—remixing Caerlaverock’s landscape into something entirely new. \nThe Imaginarium’s Missing Museum\nDJ McDowall hosts a live exploration of LGBTQ+ histories woven into Caerlaverock’s past and future. Featuring symbolic carved stone artworks that come alive with water and conversation—what stories do you see in stone? \nSound Foraging Workshop\nJoin artist Martin O’Neill for a hands-on sonic exploration using digital recorders\, headphones\, and a fresh ear for the sounds of the wild. \nVR Lounge: The Bookshop Band\nImmerse yourself in a magical virtual world of music and myth with The Bookshop Band. Headsets and headphones provided—stories await. \n\nGood to Know & Accessibility\n\nThe event is planned outdoors—bring wellies and waterproofs (if needed)!\nCaerlaverock Castle is wheelchair accessible\, but the grounds are uneven in places.\nNeed specific access info or support? Drop us a line at info@thestove.org\nWe aim to create a relaxed\, welcoming space where you can move at your own pace. There’s no pressure to take part in everything—explore the site how and when you wish.\n\nThis event is delivered in partnership with ‘The Imaginarium’ and Historic Environment Scotland. \nFreeAll Welcome | No need to book
